I have a Maytag Epic Z dryer that is about 8 years old now and has running like a champ until recently. The dryer won't start and the check lint screen light keeps blinking so I cleaned out the lint collection area and screen thoroughly and tried to start it again without any luck. I've unplugged it overnight and plugged it back in and the same issue.

Finally, I ran a diagnostic test and it's giving me an F-01 error which I understand means that there's an electrical problem with the control boards. I checked the main electric control board for shorts but I can't see anything burnt out, however, when I start the dryer and listen closely to the control board I can hear an electric sizzle. Does that confirm a short? The part is about $150 and I can't return it if that's not the issue so I would very much appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks in advance!
