I have a Frigidaire Affinity dryer.
Dryer would stop. 3 lights flashing next to Start. Only code showing is AD, which I assume is just the Automatic Dry. I think this may have been the door not latching, and staying latched as the issue. Fixed that. However, we noticed that the unit is not heating up either. The coil is good, everything has been cleaned out and free of lint, etc.
Any help would be appreciated

A full model number would be helpful. Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.comNo heat can be caused by a number of things/parts but need a model number so I can see what the possibilities are. Assuming the unit is electric. First of all I would check the power. The heating coil requires the full 240 volts. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. Check the voltage at the wall receptacle L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Sorry, that was a little vague. The model number has been washed out over the years and that is all I can make out on the tag.
Unit is Electric
I reset the breakers last night with no luck, and the voltage checks out fine at the wall.
I'll check the terminal strip when I get home tonight.
Anything else in the meantime that you can think that I might be able to check?
Thanks in advance for your help. We've replaced a lot of the parts over the last few months, that we could have probably bought a new one. It's almost an investment now.

Below are your parts. Parts for AEQ70 - AppliancePartsPros.comYou will have to choose the correct unit from the Matching Model Numbers section. I do not know what parts are different from model to model so if you need a part first try to get a part number off it or check a few models in the list to see if the part is the same. I chose AEQ7000CES1. Looks like the wiring is the same for all units but I am not 100% sure about this. See the attachment for the tech sheet. You may want to try the diagnostics. If power is good at the terminal strip, unplug the unit. Check the heater with a meter, it should be about 13 ohms. Check the hi limit thermostat, it should be o ohms. Check the control thermistor, it should be about 50,000 ohms. At least that is what is shows in the wiring diagram. With this part it is a good idea to disconnect at least one side of it when measuring it so that you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path. |

Did you ever find out what was wrong with your dryer? Mine is doing the exact same thing! Have replaced : electric outlet, dryer cord, breaker on fuse box, main control panel on dryer, thermostat, thermistor and still runs, with very little heat for a short time then stops and the 3 lights start blinking.
Seen your post so thought I would ask. Thx
