We replaced the thermal cut-off yesterday because the dryer was not heating. We also checked continuity in the other parts suggested in the thread http://forum.appliancepartspros...timer-wont-turn-off.html . Today, it is heating but not drying anything. The drum turns, the exhaust hose is clear & the exhaust blows. What else could it be? EDIT: Is there a timer sensor? I just turned it on for 40 min timed dry & it stopped in 20.

Two thing you want to check with your meter are the connection block to see that you are geting 120v to each side and the heater element to make sure it has continuity and is not broken.
If these check out, and you are certain your thermostats are ok, then I suggest you replace the timer. If it stops then it sounds like the timer is bad but unfortunately you will have to replace it to test that theory.
