The auto dry feature doesn't work. It does dry the clothes, but the dial does not advance through "normal" to "cool down" and finally off.
The timed dry works fine.

It was suggested that I check the thermostat control, which I actually replaced.
That didn't do the trick, and since I don't have electronic testing equipment, I rely on good advice as to parts.

Any ideas? I don' t want to spend another $40 for nothing.

Thanks all.

During normal dryer operation, the burner cycles on and off to maintain the proper heat level. In auto dry cycle, the timer only advances when the burner cycles off. If the burner is cycling on/off via the control thermostat as it should then check the purple wire that runs from the control thermostat to the timer AD terminal. If it is ok, then the problem is likely the timer. Any parts ordered from APP can be returned if they don't fix your problem.
