I am attempting to repair our front load dryer and would appreciate advice. I have zero experience fixing dryers.
I disconnected the exhaust hose from the machine to eliminate the possibility of poor air flow.
I removed the drum & started unit to see whether the igniter was working. The igniter glows & flame burns for about 1 minute (+/-) then shuts off.
I checked the resistance of the flame sensor and measure 5 ohms. Although I was not thoroughly convinced the gas coils were bad I decided to change them. After installing new coils I get the same results with the burner igniting & flaming for a minute, maybe less & shutting off.
Should I replace the flame sensor?
