My dryer started out heating up and never stopping. We replaced the dryer cycling thermostat and the dryer thermal fuse and thought that would fix it. Didn't. It would still heat up and run but it does so continuously during timed cycle and it doesn't hit the cool down cycle but in automatic cycle it just sits and runs/heats continuously. Our clothes are coming out wrinkled and extremely hot. We have made sure that there is good air flow and the vents are are clear of debris. What else could it be? HELP!

Does it produce heat when in air only cycle? If so, sounds like you have a grounded heat element.

Just tested it and yes it runs heat during the air fluff cycle.

Thanks for all your help. My husband checked the element and it was indeed grounded. He's performed a temporary fix until the new part comes in and it seems to be running perfect. Couldn't have done it without your help. Said he never would have thought to check the element as problems didn't seem to reflect that issue. Again, thanks.
