Our barely over one year old Whirlpool dryer has developed rust on the duct grating inside the drum. It is leaving rust spots on our white linens (bed and breakfast - heavy useage)
Rather than buy a new duct for $65, which will also rust, I'm thinking of painting it with a coat of Duro Extend rust treatment then over coat with white automotive header paint. The Duro will stop the rust, the header paint should be able to withstand the heat/humidity.

What do the guru's think?

Thanks for any input...
