Hi all:

I am hoping someone might be able to help me out with this.

I have an older maytag gas dryer that will not heat up. the clothes just stay wet.. Also, I have found that it is not cycling..

Here is the detail..

1) The dryer does not heat... When I check it out.. the burner get very red... and the gas kicks on... the flame stays on for about 20 seconds at most... then kicks off...
about 2-3 minutes later... the same thing... flame kicks on... then goes out a few seconds later..

2) When I am drying in timed mode..that is.. just shoosing some amount of minutes to dry.. it seems to be ok..
when I choose one of the autodry option where is simply is more dry... or less dry... like in the perm press drying option..
it does not cycle.. it just stays in the same spot..

i have cleaned everything out..
I have changed the cycling thermometer..

what next..
any thoughts..
