Thermal Fuse, High Limit Thermostat, Cycling Thermostat all checked out good. Dryer was only coming on in the auto mode and not heating. Then the breaker kicked and it would not come on at all. I replaced the Timer and Heating element. Came on and heated on the auto mode BUT only hummed when on timed mode. Then when on Auto mode I moved the timer to the OFF position. Breaker kicked again. Now it only hums under both modes. I hope I did not burn out the timer I just installed. Please advise what to do next.

I forgot to mention that before replacing the Timer and heating element, the old timer did not count down on any setting. That was another reason why I decided to replace the Timer.

Update:

I removed the drum and belt to test the motor. The motor pulley spins fine. Only thing I don't get is that it will only engage when I hold the start button in. Once released, it stops spinning. Throws off heat too. Also, if I hold the button in too long the breaker kicks. Please remember all this is being done with the drum and belt removed. Any suggestions?

Here are your parts
Parts for Kenmore Dryer 11064742400 - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

You may have had two problems so I can only address your current symptoms.
I ma not sure what was going on with it starting just in auto.

It sounds like there may be a problem with a centrifugal switch on the motor.
The activate when the motor gets close to operating speed.
One of the switches has two functions.
It provides an alternate path for the start switch which keeps the unit running when you release the start switch.
It also disconnects the start winding which if left in circuit causes the motor to overheat and trip it's internal thermal protect.

The switches are not available as a separate item so the motor must be replaced.
