Hello,
I have a GE electic dryer has worked excellent for the last 3 years. Used it a few days ago and worked fine. Today went in and put some cloths in the dryer and it would not do anything. The only thing that works is the light inside the dryer. None of the panel lightd work. So unplugged it and let it set about 5 hrs went in and plugged up and it started working.. Worked about 5 minutes and again nothing works. I am a single mom raising a son with Cerebal Palsy {wheelchair bound}. Can you please give me a thought as to what is wrong.God Bless

Hi Joanna
My son also has CP so I understand your situation. Fortunately he is mobile but it is a terrible condition and you have our sympathy.
Unfortunately GE does not release any technical information about its products, and it is very hard for us to get any. In your situation your problem could be the control assembly or the user interface board, and they are both expensive so you do not want to change it out unless you are pretty certain about the problem.
If you look under the console you should find some tech notes that will show you how to do a diagnosis. See if that can help you troubleshoot the dryer and pinpoint the problem.
