My 16 year old Amana LEA50AW stops heating intermittently. I got the schematic out and started troubleshooting and found the element not getting 115V on one side. I traced it back to the timer, where I found line voltage going in on the red wire at L2, but not out on the orange wire to the fabric selector.

I found that if I play around with the timer, I can get it to work, so it seems obvious to me it's a bad timer, but I'm no appliance expert, so I'd welcome a 2nd opinion.

Now for part 2 of my question: The timer for this dryer is over $200! Does anyone know of a reasonable priced timer that will cross reference for this machine? I can't see spending $200 on a part for a 16 yr old machine....but I really don't wanna have to buy a new one either. I think I'm in a no win situation.

Thanks!
