I have a whirlpool duet dryer, it keeps blowing thermal fuses that control the motor, the display panel still works. I have replaced the thermal fuse 2 times, its the fuse in the front of the dryer just under the lint trap. I tested the winding in the motor and got 1.6on both windings,, is this ok. anyone out there have any ideas? thanks

You are missing 3 digits at the end of your model number so I cann0ot find the correct tech info.

I am not sure what thermal fuse you are referring to.
As far as I know there are only two in this unit.

One is mounted on the blower. This is the one for the motor.
The other which they usually refer to as a thermal cutoff is on the heater case.

The most common cause for the thermal fuse blowing is a problem with the vent system.
Check/clean it.
Make sure that it is not squashed etc.
Check that the outside louvers on the vent also open fully.
Check that the blower itself is clean.

The model number is GEW9200LW1 and it is the thermal fuse on the blower that controls the motor. All vents and blower are clean.

See the attachment for your tech sheet.

You could try running the diagnostics to see if an error pops up.

Always a possibility that the fuse just blew without an external cause.

Check the thermistor to be sure it is OK.

Check the heating element.
Unplug the unit and both wires at the heater.
Measure the heater with a meter, it should be around 8 to 12 ohms.
Then measure from each side of the heater to it's case, both should be infinite ohms.
If not the heater element is grounded and it should be replaced.

Check that the blower wheel is clean and tight on the motor shaft.

Usually with any of the above faults the thermal cut off on the heater would be the fuse that blows.
