Samsung Dryer will not turn on
My Samsung dryer (electronic interface with LED display) will not turn on. It worked great for almost 2 years, then without warning, failed to respond to any inputs. I checked the breakers and hired a repair tech. He checked the unit and said that the PCB main board and sub assemblies where possibly damaged by a power surge and needed to be replaced. I ordered all new parts, and replaced them myself with no luck. I know I installed them correctly because they are simple wiring harness connections. I also checked all the dryer wiring. I am getting 120v to each leg, and 240v across from the main input plug, the ground connections are all good. I checked input voltage to the PCB main and both power inputs to the PCB register 60v. The output voltage from the PCB main to the interface sub assemblies are also correct at 12v and 5v. Although the temp overload fuse should have thrown an error code and not make it completely dead, I checked it anyway and it is not blown and has 0 ohm continuity. The belt and drum are free to turn and the belt break switch is not tripped, the door switch operates correctly. For all that I can account for this dryer should be fully operational, but alas....it is a giant door stop. Does the dryer have to be reset via the diagnostic port on the main PCB?? Or is there some other magical remedy that needs to be performed......I have some chicken bones!!
