Dryer Heat issue
Model Number: FDE546RES1 Brand:
More than 10 years
Ok, for the last number of months, the dryer is not giving out any heat, well mostly. After drying for 2-60 minute dry cycles there appears to be no heat. After running dryer for another 30-40 minute cycle there finally is a little bit of heat and clothes are, for the most part, dry and warm.
Today, after searching on line for this issue I found this website and read up on where the heating coil is for my brand of dryer. When I took out my last load of clothes, just a bit ago, I felt the back of the drum and it was hot. I have not checked the back after each dry cycle, but am curious what the issue might be.
Apparently the coil is getting hot, or the back of the drum wouldn't be hot, but why is it not putting off heat during the other two cycles.
I have cleaned out all the lint I could find (everywhere) in the dryer, the exhaust hose is free of any obstructions, and the blower is working fine.
Any help or suggestions?
