Dryer is making a noise like a washing machine that is off balance.

I am assuming this is thumping noise.

The most common cause is a bad rear support roller.
Infrequently it is cracked drum. This you should be able to feel from inside the tub at the tub seam.

Since you have to take the unit apart to check/replace the roller you may as well give the unit an overhaul. Check and replace as necessary the following
belt
idler wheel
front drum support glides
drum seals
any other internal seals
etc.

Give the interior a good cleaning including the blower wheel.
Also this is good time to check/clean your vent system.
