My 3 year old son dropped a pencil into the slot where the filter goes in front is there anyway that the front can come off or how do I get into there to get it out because it makes a horrible sound if turned on? Please help desperate mommy needs dryer working !! I also was wondering if it should still be under warranty if I bought it out right from RENT-A-CENTER

Well, 3 year olds are 3 year olds. We have all had them.

If you will post a model number we can tell you how to get the pencil out.

As for the warranty, check with the seller but I doubt they will come out and service it for this problem.

Ok, you have a Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer

If you take out the lint filter you can then take off the outflow grid that is between the lint chute and the drum by taking out screws from the inside.

This should allowyou to get to the pencil. If it does not, you need to take off the front and maybe the blower cover. This manual will show you how.

Good luck, and watch that dickens of a three year old!

Sounds like it has gotten in the blower wheel. Just take your time, follow the directions, and if it will make you feel more comfortable get a friend to be there with you. I don't think you can harm anything.
