Dryer overheated and the thermal fuse and thermal cutoff which were both showing bad continuity were replaced. The element continued to overheat so I replaced the thermal cycling switch. The element does not appear to be touching anything like some of the posts suggested if it was warped and touching the housing it could be going to ground. I tested the element and it is showing good continuity, as well, even though it is the original element, somewhat burned looking and the internal plate between the insulators is cracked, probably as a result of overheating. The element does not appear to be cycling at all and even comes on in the air fluff cycle??? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

If the heater is on in air fluff, either the timer is bad or the heat element has a short to ground. The overheat problem sounds like your not getting good airflow due to restriction in duct or blower fan isn't working properly. Cycling thermostat is located on blower outlet while the thermal cutoff and hi limit are on the heater box. Without good airflow, the hot air never gets to the cycling thermostat.
