The drum support rollers, roller axles and belt were replaced this weekend. The dryer drum spins fine when empty, but struggles when a load of clothes is put in the dryer. At times it sounds like the dryer is going to stall but it never does. The belt is properly installed from all indications.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

The belt in this model is different from all others in that the grooved side of the belt goes away from the drum, not against it. Is your belt around the drum with the grooves toward the drum?

No. The flat side is against the drum.
Thanks for the reply.

Is the belt routed as the picture below shows?

You said that the unit struggles,
Is it that the motor is struggling (stalling etc.) or is it that the drum is not rotating correctly?
I know it may be hard to tell which it is.
If it is just the drum then try cleaning the back of the belt and the drum where the belt rides with isopropyl alcohol.

When you replaced the rollers did you check the other drum supports for wear re: the front drum glides.

Check that the drum seals (felts) are OK.

Check the idler wheel.

There is a possibility that when you reinstalled the drum you did not get it in quite right so I would redo this.

Try rotating the drum by hand. Then try it with a downward pressure re: simulating clothes in the unit.

If it is harder to turn with downward pressure then odds are that it is a drum support issue.
If it turns with the same amount of force with a downward pressure then there is a possibility that your motor is on it's last legs.
