Default Electric Clothes Dryer
Model Number: 1DE 510 D1 W   Brand: GE   Age: More than 10 years

The dryer runs but after a couple of minutes the heating element shuts off. After a few minutes it comes on again but goes off. I am sure it is one of the limit switches but I dont know which one. It looks like there are three on this dryer

A heating element will cycle on an off on a drying cycle this is normal, and if you have the door open and the door swich pushed in,while looking in the dryer, it will happen more often because there is less air flowing over the heater.CHECKyour vent to make sure it,s not plug or restricted.

I cleaned out the vent and ran the dryer without the vent hooked up too. Still cycles on and off. Average run time without anything in the dryer is about two minutes, element kicks off, air cools down element kicks back on.
