When you say "it makes a sounds like the it wants start", do you mean that the motor hums/buzzes?

If yes.
Try turning the drum in the correct direction.
It should turn fairly easily. You may want to try this on a couple other units to get a feel for it.
Could be the drum is jammed/seized for some reason.

If OK
Open the door and hold the door switch closed.
Hit the start switch and at the same time try rotating the drum in the correct direction.
If it starts up then you have a motor problem.
This may take two people.
Do not let it run very long as running it with the door open can blow thermal fuses.

The motor problem could be a bad motor, this is the most likely.
Could be that the motor is clogged solid with lint and the motors centrifugal switch is stuck in the running position. This disconnects the start winding so the not will not run.

FYI: If the hum is just the timer motor running then it may be as simple as a broken belt. This unit has a belt switch which kills power to the motor if the belt breaks.
