We had something go down the lint tube. So my husband took the dryer apart to get to it. Now... he is having trouble getting the wires back in place on the motor. We just need a wiring diagram or picture of what it should look like so it can be put back together again!

Poor Humpty Dumpty...

Please help!

Thank you!

Check underneath the push button console there should be a tech sheet underneath or a sticker with a diagram.......go to youtube if you want to see how your unit breaksdown.

Thank you for your reply!

My husband got it all back together and it works again! but it makes such a racket! It sounds like it is off balance. It feels quite solid even when the racket is going on! The drum looks like it's turning evenly. The dryer doesn't rock. But it sounds like a lot of banging. That can't be good for the dryer and it way too much noise in my house.

I don't think it was quite this loud when my husband dried the first load. We might dried about five loads, but I don't remember it being as loud as this last load! It sounded the same with the towels in the dryer and empty.

What can it be?

Thank you all for your help!

Me and noise needs separate rooms...

Sorry if he put it all back together and didn't inspect all the moving parts he'll have to tear it apart again and figure it out. Watch some youtube video's on noisy dryers and what to look for. I can't diagnose by word of mouth because i can't see inside your unit via online.

My husband took the dryer apart again. The roller on the bottom left is shot. The one on the upper right looks okay. It has a little extra wear from the bumpy ride. I know I need to replace the roller, perhaps both, since the dryer is over 25 years old. The back seal on the drum is coming apart. I inspected the tract that the rollers run in. There's a bit of a rubber stain going towards the inside of the drum. It has a very long cupping pattern about 4-5 waves going around the whole drum.

My question is: is the excessive wear on the lower roller the cause or the effect? If we put a new roller on, is there something that caused this that would destroy the next roller? Or was is it just time...

Thank you!

When we know more, we will know exactly what to order.

When you replace the roller on a unit that old you should replace the shaft as well and the bottom roller always gets worn in those units because it carries the brunt of the weight the way it's designed. The drum alone is over $200 itself and the other parts will add up with the felt going out and who knows what other parts will be added. My suggestion you got 25 years out of it it's time for replacement. Here's your parts list and watch how the parts add up.

It's been a rather trouble-free dryer and we can't afford to replace it. So, we will just get the parts and fix it. There's not a lot that can go wrong with it. Except for little boys stuffing items down the lint trap...

Thank you for your help!

I'm sorry. I just realized that you thought the drum was damaged! No, only stained. It still feels nice and smooth. The seam is still intact. It's still looking good! We have six boys and my husband is a mechanic. My girls are pretty tough too. That's a lot of jeans being tumbled and hardly a problem! I can only remember 3 or 4 repairs on the dryer and a few new light bulbs... That dryer has outlasted at least 3 washers! and a few other appliances and cars...

Thank you! This is the place to come when help is needed with my appliances!
