I ordered a replacement heater assembly for my Samsung DV5471AEW/XAA electric dryer. I got the old one out only to realize that the new unit has an extra connector and I don't know what to do. Here is a photo of the old unit. You will see that on the right side there is a two prong connector. The blue wire was on top and red on the bottom when I disassembled it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6am94g...C%207%2051%2048%20PM.jpgThe next photo is of the new unit. It has three prongs on the right side instead of two plus the thermostat in the center is oriented differently. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1szn8u...C%207%2051%2021%20PM.jpgSo I have three questions... 1) Is this the wrong part? 2) What do I do with the extra connection? 3) On the center thermostat which connector gets which wire? On the original the blue wires were always on top.
