dryer has electricity but when turn on switch,it wants to turn motor but doesn't and motor gets hot

try turning the drum in the correct direction.
If it turns fairly easily then you probably need a new motor.

denman - Thank you for your reply to the posts in regards to dryer making noise, not running. I tried exactly what you said, "hold dryer door button, push start and turn drum." It is working fine and you now saved me hundreds of dollars from buying a new one. Thank you again for your help!!!
