For the last 6-8 months the lights on the dryer will turn on and it will beep on its own, even if the door is open. This happened last night and now when I touch the control panel it does nothing. We unplugged it and plugged it back in and still nothing. The circuit breaker is fine. A few months ago, I had a repairman out to look at it. He said the control panel was probably going out and to replace it would be over $200. If it was not the control panel, he would not be able to return the part because Kenmore is hard to deal with when it comes to repairs. Three to four years ago we kept having problem with the thermal cut off and that was replaced several times, but has not been a problem since. What is the cost of a control panel? And how much to install? The dryer may not be worth fixing.
