Timer not advancing

Hello! My dryer is about 1 month short of 5 years. I have had problems with it for a few months now running hot on low settings. It finally got to the point where it did not turn on. I called service and he said my heating element and thermal fuse were bad. He replaced them, then it instantly stopped working again, this time he said the motor was bad. I opted to replace those parts myself to save some money. I also replaced the thermistor, thermal cut-off and thermostat for good measure since I got it running again but it was still heating in the no heat setting. I finally had to call service again and he said a heating relay was bad. You could tell it was burnt out. Again, I replaced the part myself (although it was a power relay on the diagram). I was overjoyed to have it working again when I installed the new power relay. I have done about 3 loads and today I went to give one load more time since the clothes were not quite dry. It would not turn, on not even the light. I went to check the circuit breaker and sure enough, the one for the dryer tripped. I reset it and the dryer is working now but the timer knob is not advancing.
Could this mean I need a new timer or possibly a dryness control board?
