I followed the diagnostic test mode instructions. They tell me nothing. I checked for continunity on the thermal cut-off, hight limit thermostat, heater element, and thermal fuse -- they all indicate continunity. The thermistor has a resistance of 12 oms (spelling).

I disconnected the power supply to the heater coil and tested the power supply -- there's no power to the heater.

How do I check the control board or the centrifugal switch? What would be the cause of no power to the heating element?

Thank you for your time.

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool GEW9200LW2 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet

Your thermistor resistance is Low see the chart in the tech sheet.
Should be about 12,000 ohms at room temperature.

Did you check the power going into the unit.
The heater requires the full 240 volts.
Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
Check the voltage at the plug
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Do this with the heater off and on.
Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

With the unit running do you get 120 Volts from a heating element connector to Neutral.
If yes you then know that either the heater relay or the centrifugal switch is OK. But you cannot tell which one is OK.

So if you get the above, unplug the unit and short across heater relay contacts/connector.
Plug it in and give it a try. If it heats up then there is a problem on the control board. If there i9s no heat then odds are a problem with the centrifugal switch.

Let it run just long enough to determine if there is heat or you will blow the thermal cut off.
