Model Number: MDE7500AYW Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
Get the error message power failure during the cycle and the dryer will not start when I press the start button which part do I need to replace to fix this issue? This is an electric dryer. It takes me approx. 15-20 minutes of pressing the button with double beeps and the power failure message popping up to FINALLY get it going. Once I get it going, I can use it the entire day once it's warmed up. But if I stop using it over night I have to start all over again to get it going. I've checked the fuses already. I have the LED touch screen so the start button is just a flat button and not a dial to turn.

Check and make sure there are no loose connections on the unit. If none is found, then based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the main control board in the unit. Part number: AP4043119

No loose connections, but this is the start button, NOT the LCD screen that I"m having the issues with. Once I get the dryer going it will go and start just fine forever. I used a hair dryer last night and warmed it up and it started just fine. All summer long it starts just fine it's just in the winter that it does this. So when I warmed it up with the dryer last night it worked fine. I'm not sure how that would have anything to do with the touch screen?

The issue is you are getting a power failure message. This would have nothing to do with the start button. It has to do with the control board breaking down. Once the board is warm, the relay is holding and the unit is working. If the start button turns on the unit, then a power failure, and it shuts off, it is not the start button, but is the touch board of the unit.

No, the console is a separate part from the control board. Part number: AP4028918

Ok, so what's in the console that could possibly be causing this problem. I've been trying to get answers regarding this issue and another person is telling me that the console needs replaced, because when I used the dryer and it started they thought that was the item that needed replaced. But I don't see how that can be, the console doesn't have any parts in it does it?

The only part in the console is the touch pad. It is working because when you press start, the unit starts. It can not cause the power failure code as well. You need to replace the board.
