Model Number: Whirlpool LGR7646EQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
I am a new member here and have a Whirlpool dryer that spins but generates no heat. The timer works if placed in the "Air Fluff" position, but otherwise it does not move in any other "heat" setting. I have read some of the messages here and see that this might be a fixable problem.
However, to be exactly sure, could someone direct me to the specific dis-assembly and testing thread for this particular model # or, otherwise kindly direct me on how to go about diagnosing the specific malfunctioning part on this unit? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
First you need to check the timer Part number: 3976580 Use the video clip for the instructions. Remove one black wire from the timer motor contact and check the resistance. If you read no continuity - then replace the timer. If not - set the timer to AUTO-REG and check continuity between TM-WB, BK-BU, BK-R, T-W. If any of them are open - replace the timer. You also should check hi-limit, operating thermostat and thermal fuse for continuity. All of them are at the back of the dryer. Fuse Part number: 3392519 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Bulkhead parts for Whirlpool LGR7646EQ0 - AppliancePartsPros.com Simon.

Hello Simon, thanks for your response to my post, have been under the weather over here the last couple of days. You directed that I "use the video clip for the instructions", but I do not see any video clip or link to one. Please clarify.
