When you push the start button the motor hum's like it's trying to start then the second you take your finger off it stops. If you hold it, it hums but then eventually stops. Do you know what this could be?

Odds are that the motor is toast.

Try rotating the drum in the correct direction. It should turn fairly easily. Could be that the drum is putting too much drag on the motor.

If it turns OK then the motor is the most likely culprit.
