Default Heating Element Access from the Front?

I have a Kenmore Laundry Center. The dryer has stopped heating--we're pretty sure that the heating element is shot. It is inside a very narrow cabinet and we would prefer to not have to pull it out. Can you access the heating element from the front? We have taken out the drum, but we're not sure how to get behind the rear panel.
