Model Number: Dwsr483eg0ww Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
About 3 months ago i found this strange long piece of felt wrapped around my clothes. It looked like it was suppose to seal something i. The dryer. Don't know where it came from, so I threw it away. Then a few days later i noticed when I i needed to do more laundry, I put wet cloths in, but noticed the dryer wasHOT. This got me nervous knowing the heat was still on, but we never turned the dryer on. Now, the dryer is tumbling, but it is not hot. I played around with the knobs ECG and now it's hot. Is this a sensor problem, thermostat. I'm confused

You may want to start the troubleshooting from checking the heating element for continuity. If it reads open, replace the heating element.
Remove the wires from the heating element terminals and check for continuity between each terminal and the ground. If any of them has continuity, replace the heating element. If there is nothing wrong, check all thermostats for continuity. Refer to the reference numbers on the diagrams. Post the results. Gene.
