MDE9700AYW Heats then trips out and kills the thermostat.
Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
Ok. To start, this thing is now as clean as it was when it came off the factory floor. Vent, hose all new. It is the typical heating problem and so I checked the element... 10.2 ohm. no sags no breaks all clean. Next the hi limit themostat on heating box. 10 ohms. Theromstat, less than 1 omh until it heats for 3 mins and then it burns out. Cleaned and checked the motor belt switch and it is good. Traced all the wires all the way back to the breaker box. No shorts.... Is my problem in the control board and if so, is there a easy way to check the contacts. Ordered two more theromstats for on the heater assy. The two on the vent duct are also good in resistance. any help?
