I was just given a dryer that "Won't start." I was told the dryer will only start if you wait a day or so. I have not hooked it up yet and tested it myself so that is all I know.
It sounds to me like a capacitor has gone out but after looking at the diagrams and schematics I could not find a replaceable capacitor.
My thoughts are the button is going out or the motor...any ideas?

Lots of ideas but you have tp hook it up and check it.
Check that the drum turns fairly easily. You may want to try this on a couple other units to get a feel for it.
If the motor overheats it will trip it's internal thermal protect. You will then have to wait for the motor to cool and the protect to reset but this should not take a day.
There can be several cause for the motor to overheat. |
