Hi.
It's not clear why you can't check the hi - limit thermostat continuity. Is it open? Do you take one wire off when testing? Simon.

I am mistaken, the cycling thermostat is the point I cannot check across. I had to review the wiring diagram again. For continuity= The Temp switch checks good the high limit sensor checks good but I cannot get across the cycling thermostat.
![]() There is power from wire BU 44 of the timer to the temp switch. It seems that all of this circuit gets ground from motor. But the motor ground must be good to run. your thoughts please |

There are four terminals: two large and two small. You have to check for continuity across the large terminals only. Gene.

large terminals are ok. Am I missing or misunderstanding something? I have not tried to measure the complete circuit. only disconnected one at a time. i.e cyclic thermostat, temp switch, high limit and heater element itself. Now when I try to test the two small terminals I get resistance not zero ohms. it is a couple of hundred I think from memory. It has been about a month since I folled with it.

Unplug the dryer. Remove the wires from the heating element and carefully place them so they would not touch each other or any other wires and/or metal parts. Plug the dryer and start it. Measure the voltage between each of those wires and the ground. Then measure the voltage between these wires. Post the results. Gene.
