While drying cloths this past weekend I noticed that timer would not advance in auto mode, as well as not advancing the cloths wouldnot dry. The timer does work in timed mode but still does not dry the cloths completely.I read through some forums and checked to make sure the vent path is clean andclear. The lint trap has been cleaned as well. I checked to make sure theigniter worked and it does. With the front cover of the dryer off I turned thedryer on saw the igniter glow and the flame came on for a brief minute and shutoff. As I ran the cycle for a fewminutes to observe, the flame would continue to come on and off. Correction part number is MDG3758AWW. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello,

Remove the front panel and the two screws securing the top panel. Lift the top panel up and reinstall the front panel.

Run the dryer with a wet cloths and watch the igniter and flame. We need to know how long the flame stays on every time and if the flame goes on every time when the igniter is on.

Post the results.

Thank you for the response Gene. After a little more digging and testing i found that the coils were shot. Picked up a couple of new ones today and everything seems to be back to normal. Thanks again..
