Model Number: GE PTDN600EM1 Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Can anyone tell me where to get a schematic for my dryer or if I can meter the coil and the over limits without disassembling the dryer. I thought that this might be possible at the controls. My dryer is relatively new (possibly under a year) but I don't have my receipt so I don't know if its under warranty. GE requires the receipt for warranty service so I thought that I could save on the service call(s) and repair it myself. I am capable of performing the repair but I was hoping to get an idea of what I needed before I disassembled the dryer. The dryer is operating but has no heat. I thought the heating coil or a bad or shorted connection since the dryer tripped the breaker when the problem occurred. The dryer operated as usual after I reset the breaker but has no heat, but it doesn't trip the breaker which leads me to the coil first, I think.
