Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read this.
My electric dryer recently stopped heating. It still powers on and cycles but there is no heat. I unplugged it and started to diagnose and immediately found a melted L2 connection. It is melted on both sides of the connection plate (ie the 10/3 cord and the red cable of the wiring harness). Question1: Do you think this is the problem or the result of a bigger problem? Maybe a short circuit in the [something] caused the melted cable? I'm surprised an internal fuse wasn't tripped, though. Question 2: Do I need to replace the wiring harness and the 10/3 cord or is it possible to patch in with equivalent gauge? I would just cut the 10/3 cord a bit shorter and not patch. Thank you!
