Dryer Repair

The dryer will not stop running. I have tried all cycles and they all do the same thing. I assumed it was the timer but did not know how to test it. This dryer also has the "auto reversing" feature I would like to eliminate. It is noisy and I believe it may be responsible for catching the clothes between the drum and housing leaving burn type marks on our clothes. Can I easily wire around that circuit board?

I would try changing out the push to start switch, as it is inexpensive and if it is not the problem it can be ruled out.

Given the age of the dryer and your problem with clothes catch and burning I would say that if the push to start switch change does not fix things then you should consider replacing the dryer. I don't think it is an economical decision to invest in a new timer.

As far as re-wiring circuits, I would leave it alone. If the situation is unacceptable I would replace the machine.
