Model Number: MDE9700AYM Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Sorry everyone,...usual story(Maytag Neptune MDE9700AYM). My dryer drum had a crack at the weld, didnt know for a long time, found out by snags in clothes. Anyways, i replaced the drum and the entire inside was covered in 2 to 3 inches of lint. Completely cleaned out looked brand new on the inside. A few days later the heating element went out. I replaced the element along with the high limit thermostat and the thermostat on the element housing. The blower thermostat has continuity and the thermistor looks to be correct around 10,000. When i go into the diagnostic code i get 02. I reset via the panel and everything works but no heat.
Any suggestions... Ads By Google Related Models |

The 2 in diagnostics is "open thermistor". Check the thermistor again at the control between the red and blue wire 10K ohms @ room temperature. If it checks good. With the dryer running on timed dry high heat, check for 120 VAC between the black wire on Relay#2 Heater and the white wire or N. Then check for 120 VAC between the blue wire on the same relay and the white wire.

Thanks Rick. Really appreciate you taking the time to respond! I am getting intermittent readings from the Thermistor over different times checking. I ordered a new one and hope to get it today. I will give an update when done.

Thanks Rick, replaced the thermistor(double checked 12400). Still no heat. Checked the voltage and got an unusual range. I unplugged from wall moved it to make more room plugged it back in and got 120/120/240. Noticed the plug has play in the socket.
