my whirlpool dryer won't stop running I all ready replaced a timer switch and it still does the same thing

I don't think so but I don't have a wiring diagram for your model, but you should replace it first before you do anything else.

Here is a wiring diagram for an EQ2, it is probably the same as an EQ3.
http://www.servicematters.com/docs/w...%203406688.pdf The resistor can cause your problem in Auto Dry modes. Note that in timed dry modes it should advance and shut off. In Timed Dry you get power (120 volts) directly from the line. In auto mode you get power (240 volts) when the heater shuts off (Cycles) and the resistor reduces this to 120 volts so the timer motor does not burn out.
