Model Number: DPVH880EJ0MG Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
I've replaced the motor, capacitor and belt (might as well do the belt).
With the drum out, the motor won't spin unless I gently touch the motor blade to give it a boost. It doesn't take much.. then it goes. Same thing with the drum and everything together. Need to hand start it. I've ruled out bad alignment on the drum or friction and the belt. I've replaced the capacitor and motor, so unless they are new and faulty, that's not it. Gene, said to check the power board for an amp reading. I don't have that ability. Could it be anything else besides the board? Everything works once it goes. When you first turn it on.. sometimes the motor will rotate just 1/4 inch. Started a new Thread. Thanks for your help so far Gene. GE Profile Dryer Parts. Hi.
Most likely it is the PCB's motor reversing relay, it suppose to send 120VAC to the start motor winding. When you manually turn the motor you are imitating the start momentum. The PCB Part number: WE4M426 Post the results. Simon.

I was told by Gene that it might be Board. I replaced the Capacitor hoping it wasn't sending the juice to get the motor going. That didn't work.
I take it the relay is soldered on the power/control board. Once I give the motor a very light push, it picks up speed and then the switch in the back of the motor kicks in. You think I should order the board? I have a Volt / Ohm meter... is there an easy way to check voltage? Thank you! |

Hi.
Most likely it is the control board. You can return any unused parts even installed ones. Simon.
