GE Gas Dryer - Drum Won't Turn / Locked Up
Model Number: DDG8280GDLWH Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
When I press the Start button, it makes a buzzing sound and nothing else happens. I can spin the drum counterclockwise manually from the inside, but not clockwise. I removed the top and and the plate in the back where you can see the motor. As far as I can tell, the belt looks fine. I can't see anything jamming it from the top, but I can't tell if something may be jamming it at the bottom as I haven't completely disassembled it and therefore I can't see the entire bottom of the drum.

HI.
Remove the front panel and check the blower for any restrictions.If non found rotate the motor. If the motor is bad - replace it Part number: WE17X10010 Post the results. Simon.
