My Haier dryer is not heating up. I have 240 volts at the outlet. The heating element and both thermostats are good. I have 120 volts going into the timer but only about 75 volts coming out. Is this normal? The timer does run/turn. Also, the door switch/latch must be fried internally because the dryer will run even with the door open. There is a button on the front to switch from cottons to synthetics that does stick a little. Behind the front panel is a black box with 4 wires going to it that I'm not sure what it is. All 4 wres have voltage. Only about 75 volts though. The dryer is part of a portable/stackable front load set What am I overlooking here? This is a very basic dryer. Thanks for your help.

Many times I've seen the dryer power cord cause that problem. Check the connections where the power cord connects to the dryer.

I checked the connections where the cord comes into the dryer. They are good. Thanks.

OK, unplug the machine. Remove one of the heater wires (one of the two common) Tape it or move it into a position where it won't touch anything. Start the machine on high heat, timed dry and take a voltage reading from that wire to ground and then take a voltage reading from the wire still connected to the elements to ground. Both should be 120 VAC. On yours one reading will be low. Which one? You'll need to trace it back and see what it's connected to.
