Default No heat
Model Number: GLEQ2152ES1   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

We purchased this dryerused. I worked fine until we moved. Now it will not heat. I replaced the thermistor, control board and am getting continuity through the thermal limiter. It is a220v dryer and I have 120v going through the heating coil with good continuitythere also. Why will my dryer not heat?

Hi.

Check if you have 240VAC going to the dryer first.

Simon.

Hi.

Are you getting 240VAC across the heating element? If you do - then the element is bad.
Besides the thermal limiter check the hi-limit thermostat.
If it's closed check which leg at the heater doesn't have the 120VAC and trace it up.
Check if motor contacts M1 and M2 are closed when it's running.

Simon.

Default Dryer

I have L2 Black 120v to motor at M2. At M1 motor yellow to heater coil also 120v to high limit thermostat 120v in and out.

L1 red to thermal limiter 120v in and out. Control thermister (new) fluctuated one side 0.0 to 0.5 other side 0.0 to 0.3 at multimeter setting of 200v or 200ACV. How do I check sensor on lint trap (contact sensor)? See attached picture of wires on motor.

Hi.

Please remove one wire off from the heating element (let say one from the motor), make sure it's not touching anything.
Turn the dryer on set for heat.
Do you have 240VAC between the two wires going to the heater?

Simon.

Default No 240v

I removed black wire that goes from coil to High limit switch. I started dryer on High heat I checked Voltage Yellow from motor to coil to black from coil to High limit switch (disconnected from coil) is 0.5 on the 200v setting and 0.1 ob the 750v setting on multiemeter.
When I check outlet I get 120v from black to commmon and 12ov from red to common. Should I get 240 from black to red? I get 0.0

Hi.

There should be 240VAC between L1 and L2 and 120VAC from each hot to neutral at the outlet and dryer's disconnect block.
If one leg shows 12VAC you have bad outlet or breaker.

Default 220v

220 outlet 120v one leg, 120v second leg, 0v across both legs. L1 120v to common. L2 120v to common 0v from L1 to L2. All same outlet, disconect, and L1/L2. each seperate leg has 120. Across both is nothing. To check I have been putting one probe on L1 or outlet leg and the other probe on L2 or other outlet leg, There is nothing to common. Is this correct? I have 120 each leg but no 220. Am I understanding correctly and checking it properly?
