Model Number: RES7648EQ2 Brand: Roper Age: 5 - 10 years
Hey, guys. My Roper, Model RES7648EQ2 just stopped heating up. Should I just assume that it's the heating element, and can you point me in the direction of a good troubleshooting/walkthrough?
Thanks so much in advance. Ads By Google Related Models |

Well, I tested the thermal fuse, which was fine, and my element had read 9 on the losest setting of resistance. My high-level thermostat is fine, too. I guess I'll check the cycling thermostat, but I don't like the way this is going...

Have you checked if there is 240VAC to the dryer?
Simon.

Hi.
Here what you need to do: - with dryer turned to heat check if there is 240VAC across the heating element (if yes - replace it) - with unit unplugged check continuity of the thermal cutoff, operating thermostat, hi-limit thermostat (replace if needed). -with unit unplugged open the control panel, set the timer to Timed-regular and check continuity TM-OR,BK-R,T-W. - If everything checks out OK then most likely the motor switch contacts 1M-2M not closing. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Bulkhead parts for Roper RES7648EQ2 - AppliancePartsPros.com Post the results. Simon.
