Loud squeeking noise when turning. stopped the drier. investigated, could not trace source of noise. called technician, who stated, after turning the rotor fan by hand "motor bearing is done, needs new motor" I asked if the bearing could be replaced, negative, and does not know of any local motor-repair source. Is the bearing replacable? is there a way of doing so? or a company/person that can do so? we are in N E Pa Hazleton, near Wilkesbarre/Scranton.

If the bearing is not damaged yet and makes that noise just because it's dry then try to lubricate it. Use a few drops of a motor oil.
Gene.
