Electric dryer goes through cycle and stops but doesn't cool down?

I would check for a grounded element. When the motor stops the centrifugal switch (2M/1M) should open removing power from the heating coils. Check the heating coil. Unplug the unit and both wires to the coil. Check it with a meter, each element should be around 20 ohms. Then check from each side of the coil to the case/frame, both should be infinite ohms (open). If not the coil may have sagged or broken and is touching the case so it is powered by 120 volts. |
