Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
I am hoping someone can help me because i am at a loss. About a year ago my dryer stopped getting hot so i relaced the heating element with a new one. I was told the one that i bougt would work i just needed to do some cutting of the bracket and install. After installing the new heater element i have been blowing the thermal fuse. I have rebuilt my ducting to 23 ft with one elbow (all clean). The fan wheel is not clogged and it blows air. I have even tried venting it into the laudry room. I also replaced the Thermostat. I have visually inspected the element and didn't see it touching anywhere to the metal. I have even asked the folks at my local appliance parts store and they are at a loss. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Default Any Suggestions

Is it possible that the position of the heating element in the casing is incorrect, maybe to close to the thermal fuse? The element I installed was from the local appliance store but didn't seem the same as the old one, the repairman told me they were all standard?

Default blowing thermal fuses

Hello,

Where is the thermal fuse that you are replacing? Is it the thermal fuse that is on the blower or is it the thermal fuse on the side of the heater assy? If it is the thermal fuse on the side of the heater assy then it is a good possiblity that the heater coil is too close to it causing it to blow.

Default thermal fuse

Hello,
yes it is the thermal fuse on the heater assembly. Looking at pictures of the original heater element it looks as if it could have been positioned where the thermal fuse was closer to where the element was recessed. My wife bought a new thermal fuse so I will try to move the element back in the case tonight. Thanks for the reply
