Hello all my Kenmore staking unit Front circuit panel fell off.
The black double wire attached to the dryer timer post B dislodged making contact with the round metal housing, this caused a spark. At the same time a wire going from post TM to R was severed.
I replaced the wire with a new one of 18 gauge. with everything hooked back up the dryer won't start. The washer unit is fine. Any suggestions? Will I simply have to replace the timer?

Here is the wiring diagram. http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...df/Webster/131779900.pdfIf it has a drum light does that work. If not check the power to the unit. Looks like your washer runs off of L1 to Neutral but the dryer motor runs off of L2 to Neutral. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. Check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! |
