Control panel does not light or start dryer
Model Number: DSXH47EG0WW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Yesterday my dryer tripped a main circuit to home after my daughter started the dryer and now the panel does not light up or start. I reset the breaker to the home and there is power coming out of the outlet but no luck.
A few months ago I smelled burnt wire when I was drying a comforter and I've smelled it in the past and thought maybe the smell was from overloading the machine but it's meant to hold a comforter. I thought there was strain on belt. The manual says it could be Thermal Limiter Part Number: PS755806 But why does the control panel not light up? Machine get lots of use and is 5-7 years Ads By Google Related Models

Hi.
You should start with checking the thermal limiter Part number: WE04X10094 Located on daigr#1 #1236. Check if there is continuity at the limiter. No continuity - replace it. Here are the breakdown diagrams and http://www.appliancepartspros.com/pa...del_id=5219576 Post the results. Simon.
